I've got an unusual feeling in my stomach going into this weekend, and I like it. I've experienced it twice before, last year at Sebring before my first IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge race, and last October before my first ALMS start in the GTC car at Petit Le Mans. It's a combination of a tiny bit of nervous energy, and a great deal of excited energy, and I like it! I see it as a sign that I'm in the right place doing the right thing.
Looking at the weather forecast, there's a chance that we might get some rain this weekend! There's a first for everything and it looks like my first proper rain racing experience could be right around the corner. I'm looking forward to it all.
Overall, my ultimate goal this weekend is to do the best job that I possibly can and take the checkered flag in both my races. Patrick Long's first advice for me last season was to take every checkered flag, I'd like to do that again this year. I know I have a lot to learn and am eager for the challenges and new experiences to come in the days, weeks, and months ahead.
